נדב (b. h.) 1) to make willing, to prompt. Tanh. T'rum. 3 (ref. to Ex. XXV, 2) נודבו לבו שאין . .. יצא this excluudes the insane whom his heart (reason)cannot prompt; (Tanh. ed. Bub. ib. 2 בלבו מתנדב שאינו). - 2) (denom. of נדבה) to ofer willingly, donate, consecrate, contrad. to נדר (v. נדבה). Ned. 9b (ref. to Mish. I, 1) וכ׳ בנויר ׳ תני read nadab (in place of nadar), he made a noble vow &c. Ib. 10a תני וכ׳ נודב read nodeb (in place of נודר), he dedicates the sacrifice and fulfills (ofers it). נדבה f. (b. h.; preced.) free-will offering, donation. Kinn. I, 1 וכ׳ ׳ ואיזהו . . . נדר איזהו a vow is called neder, when one says,Ivow to dedicate a burnt-oftering;idabah, when one says, this animal is to be a burnt-offering. Ib. 3 וב׳ בחובה when an obligatory and a free-will sacrifice are mixed up. Men. I, 1 ׳ מנחת, opp. to חוטא מנחת. נדבותא f (נדב) willingness, devotion. Targ. Ps. LI, 14 Regia (ed. נבואה; hh. text נדיבה).
נדבך m. (דוך=דבך; v. Del. Prol., p. 150) 1) rammed wall (pise), a mould filled with earth or rubble; a blook of a certain siee (four handbreadths cubic measure), or a course of bricks &c., used as binderr (coagmentum); in gen. a course of stones, layer. Y. Shebi. III, 34c bot. זה וכ׳ צריך ׳ מקבל שהוא he who contracts to build nidbakh, must build with blocks of four handbreadths as far as the space contracted for (v. infra). Sabb. 115a לבנאי אאמר הנ׳ תחת שקעהו he said to the builder, sink it (the trans- lation of the Book of Job) under the rubble; Y. ib. XVI, 15a top. Ber.
