נכי, נכאי m. (preced. wds.) deduction. B. Kam. 59a חיה נכי payment is made with a deduction of the ex- pense for the midwife (which the husband now saves); מונות נ׳ a deduction for nursing expenses (incident to a regular confinement). Y. ib. VIII, beg. 6b מזון נכאי נותנין the injured person must be fully indemnified, deducting what his ordinary alimentation would have cost; Tosef. ib. IX, 3 מזון נכי Var. (ed. נכייתא, נכיתא f. (preced. wds.) reduction ofa debt against a landed security (משכנתא) by deducting a stipu- lated amount every year for usufruct. B. Mets. 67b top בכ׳ אלא ניכול לא . . משכנתא האאי where the usage prevails that a land pledge can be redeemed at any ime, the creditor must not have the usufruct except for the con- sideration of a rent deductible from the debt, v. משכלתא.
