פרקולא, פרקולה f. (furellls, furcula) fork, an in- strument of torture put on the culp iit s shoulders with his hands tied to it (v. Sm. Ant. s. v. Furca). Yalk. Prov. 961 end (ref. to Prov. XXVIII, 13) הודה . . . ללסטיס משל פ׳ נוטל הוא like the case of a robber (rebel) who is judgeed before the questionarius; as long as he is stubborn, he is smitten, but when he confesses, he gets the farcilla (and is put to death); הודה שלא עד אלא כן אינו הקביה אאבל וכ׳ פ׳ נוטל but not so acts the Lord; as long as the offender does not contess, he gets the furciilla (is doomed to die), but when he confesses, he is pardoned; Yalk. Ps. 854 נותן פרקילא (read נוטל);Pesik. Shub., p. 159a (restore the passage acordingly). Ib b פ׳ נותן הוא he (the questionarius) has the furcilla put upon him, when he is taken out and put to death; ib. וכ׳ להם נותן היא he (the Lord) places the furcilla upon them (condemns them, Hos. XIVV, 1), and then he allows them to come back (ib. 2); Yalk. Hos. 532.
פרקון, פי׳ m. (פרק) redemption. Keth. IV, 4.. חייב וכ׳ ובפרקונה is bound to support her, to redeem her (when she is captured), and to bury her. Ib. 47b ופירקונע. .. תיקנו וכ׳ תחת they instituted the duty of support as an equiv- alent for her handiwork, and that of redemption as an equivalent for the privilege of usufruct (of her property).
