John Kenncdy, for 50 years rector of Bradley, co. Derby, from 1732 to 1782, was a famous mathematician and the author of Scripture Chronologic, The Doctrine of Comineiisiirabditi/. !.i;. He was buried at Bradlev, 21st February, 1782, having had, by his wile Catherine (who d. 1779), three sons and two daughters. His eldest son, Eev. John Kennedy, for 30 years rector of Teston and Nettlestead, co. Kent, from 1789 to 1819, was baptised 28th Kehruary, 1738, and was buried at Teston, 2nd November, 18l9, having had issue, I. James, of Appin, New South Wales, of whom presently. I. Catherine, (Mrs. Dixonl. II. Elizabeth Moore, b. 1760; went to Australia with her brother James ; m. Andrew Hamilton Hume, son of the Kev. James Hume, of Moira, Ii-eland, by Miss Hamilton, his wife, of CO. Down ; and d. 1847, leaving issue, 1. Hamilton, F. E.G. S., the Australian explorer, b. at Parramatta, New- South Wales, 1797, and d. x. p. at Ya»s, in that colony, 20th June, 1873. 2. John Kennedy, b. 1802 ; d. 1F40. By Elizabeth his wife he had issue, (I) John, d. s. p., having his properly to his nephew John Hume Kennedy, afterwards John Hume UvME. (1) Annie, »H. James Kennedy, and had issue, John Hume, of Collingwood, Gunning, New South Wales, who assumed the surname of Hume in heu of that of Kennedy', on suceeeling to the Hume proprrty. (2) Catherine Kennedy, b. 5th October, 1837; m. first, Robert Macpheeson (by whom slie had one son, Eobert Charles Macpherson), and secondly, as his second wife, the Hon. William Adams Beodeibb, M.L.C, by whom she had no issue. She d. 23rd October, 1888. The eldest son, James Kennedy, of Appin, New South Wales, in. Miss Pierce, and had issue, John Kennedy, of Keswycke, Guiniing. New South Wales, b. 1781 ; m. Caroline, daughter of Periue Catapodi, and d. 19th March, 18J3, having had issue five sons and five daughters. His eldest daughter, Eliza Matilda, m. as his fir.»t wife, the Hon.
