Herklotts, Esq., Pearson's Geography, came out in 1825. In 1825 a Map of India, price 10 Rs., was published, the engraving was done in England. In 1826 Raja Kali Krishna . published a lithography of an Orrery, and in 1836 a work on Geography and Eclipses. In 1834 the Society for Translating European Sciences, under the direction of J. Sutherland, Esq.. . published a GEOGRAPHY OF INDIA, compiled and trans- lated from Hamilton's Hindustan and other works. In 1839 appeared a Geography of Asia, by the Hindu College Authori- . ties. • In 1840 the Tatvabodhini Sabha published an Elementary - Geography, and subsequently their able Secretary, Akhoj Kumar Dut, composed another, pp. 40, 24mo. In 1839 the Hindu College Fatshala authorities published the Geography • of Asia, Pragya, P., 8 as., pp. 150, treating of the size, motion, form of the earth, its divisions, particularly of India, its districts, mountains, plains, rivers, islands, the English con- quest, trade, revenues, independent states, with a similar account of Russia, Arabia, China, Tartary, Persia. The next year the same authorities published a Bhugol Sutra, General Ueo~ ' graphy, pp. 63. It has a small map of the world, and a map giving an outline of the chief geographi- cal features of a country, and is interspersed with informa- tion, historical and miscellaneous. 82.
