Fermément. Firmely, fastly, surely, steadily; soundly; certainely, assuredly; constantly, stedfastly.
Fermentation: f. A fastening, setling, assuring; also, a fermentation; a raysing, as of paste with leauen, a leauening; also, a working, as of ale or beere; also, an infusion, or infusing; a setting, or letting stand, diuers simples together, in the Sunne, ouer a furnace, or among horse dung, vntill they be fully incorporated, or their substances throughly mingled.
Fermenté: m. ée: f. Setled, fastened, assured; wrought; raised, as beere, or bread; also, infused, steeped.
Fermenter. To settle, fasten, assure, make firme; also, to worke, as ale or beere; also, to infuse; or ly steeping; as in Fermentation. Fermenter la paste. To leauen it; or, to make it rise, as leauen doth.
Fermer. To shut, stop, close, locke, seale, fasten, or make vp; also, (a demaundant, and defendant) to affirme, or protest before a Judge, holding their hands within his, that they haue good right vnto the thing they sue for.
