But whether my example or my services have been in any degree instrumental in promoting so desirable an object as that of recalling to the notice of the profession at large the neglected subject of these dis- cases, is a matter of no public interest, and which I am content to leave to the candor of the Profession.
Jn offering these observations, I entreat it may be understood, that it is far from my meaning to insinuate the slightest dero- - gation from the merits of some truly re- spectable Members of the Profession, who confine their attention to this class of dis- eases. We take a diflerent view of the subject ; but no man of ingenuous feelings will arrogate to himself that he alone walks in the right path.
