That the advanced age of your Memorialist hinders him from accompanying the above time piece or Clock but that his Son Wm. Harrison, who is fully acquainted with and instructed in every thing relating thereto embarked therewith in the River Thames and arrived safe with it at Portsmouth the 29th day of last Month.
That your Memorialist ever desirous that the Watch, the Construction of which is upon the same principles as the Clock, should be delivered on board a Ship in the highest and greatest order has determined to go with the same to Portsmouth when the orders from your Board shall be dispatched for the departure of his son Wm. Harrison.
That your Memorialist humbly begs leave to lay before your Board that for your satisfaction as well as that of the Public it were to be wished the Experiment of his time piece or Clock and Watch was made with all the care and attention possible.
That in order to effect this your Memorialist humbly apprehends that both the the Time piece or Clock and Watch should be set to time at Portsmouth by a proper person furnished with proper Instruments.
That a proper Person or Persons should after being so set to Time accompany the said Time piece or Clock and Watch and make the Observations
