Genre and por- trait painter, pupil in Copenhagen of Fred- erik Helsted and Frederik Christian Lund ; went in 1867 to Munich, and there studied under Lindenschmit and Kurzbauer, having meanwhile spent a year in Florence ; then visited Paris.
