ROELOFS probably in Venice, where he was influenced by the works of Titian and Tintoretto, his style being somewhat like the latter's. In 1G03 he was appointed prebendary of the chap- el at Olivarez, whence commonly called El Clerigo Roelas, but lived at Madrid and Seville until 1G24, when he removed to Oliviirez.
