Born Jan. 28th, 1803; succeeded his uncle in 1839; is a Magistrate for Hertfordshire: married 1st (1825), Lady Caroline Jeannetta Beauclerk, 3rd daugh- ter of the 8th Duke of St. Alban's, (this lady died, 1862,) and has issue, living, Suns, Arthur de Vere, Viscount Maiden, b. 1826; was educated at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst ; entered the Army as Lieut, in Rifle Brigade, 1844, exchanged into the Koyal Horse Guards, and retired in 1852; has been Lieut. -Col. in the Herts Yeomanry Cavalry since 1854; is a Magistrate for Hertfordshire: m. 1853, Emma Martha, daughter of Sir H. Meux, 1st Bart., and has, with other issue, George Devereux de Vere, b. 1857. Resi- dence, 39, Lowndes- street, S.W. Reginald Algernon, b. 1830, m. 1858.
