Sat as M.P. for Haverfordwest, (L.) from Nov. 1868, till June 187-4, when he was unseated through an informality; re- elected the same month ; in 1865 was an unsuccessful candidate for the same constituency; was a Groom in Waiting to Her Majesty 1873 4: married (1867) Grace Elizabeth, eldest daughter of the late Robert Johnstone Douglas, Esq., of Lockerbie House, N.B., and has issue, living, Sons, William, b. 1868. Feb. 3, 1801, and succeeded his father 1852; educated at Eton-, entered the Royal Navy 1814, became a Commander 1827, and Capt. 1856, in which year he retired. Served at the battle of Navarino, and for his conduct there was invested on the following day with the command of the " Gannet" 18 guns: tn. 1833, Laura Jane, who d. 1846, 4th daughter of Cuthbert Ellison, Esq., of Hepburn.
