Entered the 40th regiment 1808, and served in the Peninsular for five years, for which he had a medal and clasps for Roleia, Vimiera, Tala- vera, Busaco, Alhuera, Ciudad Rodrigo, Badajoz, and Salamanca. N as one of the band who entered the castle of Badajoz by escalade under Sir Thomas Pictoii : m. 1822, Cathe - rine who d. 1856, daughter of Edmund O'Callaghan, Esq., of Kilgorey, co. Clare. He d, Dec. 26. 1871, leaving issue one son and two daughters.
