Henry Cholmeley, of Burton Goggles, settled in Lincolnshire in the i6th century, and from him, in a direct line, the present baronet is descended. The ist baronet was M.P. for Grantham 1820-26, and the 2nd baronet sat for many years successively as M.P. for Grantham and Lincolnshire North (L). Cholmley, of Boynton, see Strickland.
