thy Mother has been heard and thou haſt been miraculouſly preſerved, thank God. and praiſe his holy name, he has ſhewn ſuch favours to you,' You are deſired to obſerve, that till that time I had never ſeen any human creature, that I ſhall remember, and of conſequence not learned to ſpeak but my lips was immediately opened; and the ſtrings of my tongue were loſed, ſo that I could ſpeak any language I heard. I was commanded by this viſion, which has often attended me, to go and travel, and to preach the Goſpel which ſhall be delivered by the hand of the Lord unto thee and to preach it in both the Indies and the dominions belonging to the Turks I went as I was commanded and preached as by him directed. I was many times in ſeveral nations, caſt into priſon, tried, and condemned, but always miraculouſly preſerved by his angel who never failed to be my deliverer as he was from out of the hands of the Roman inquiſition. for being taken up and put into the Inquiſition, of Rome, for preaching ſomething to the people as I was directed, by the angel, my uſual Guardian, came the night before I was to be executed, to the priſon where I was confined.
