me out and guided me to the ſeaſide where he put me into a ſmall ſhip, to my thinking, which in a ſhort time, from the neareſt port in Rome, brought me to this place, where, and to whom I am directed to declare the prophſey as follows

I am well aſſured, that whereas myſelf live an abſtemious life, free from the banquets which the voluptuous gormardizing epicures, who are too frequently met withal in this corupt age. It has been for the benefit of my ſoul and body, (illegible text) but that I coud be glad to be diſſolved, and be in Heaven

But ſtill I have no right to haſten my diſolution, for that is directing of Providence, who known beter when to call for us, than we can pretend to do. If the age would leave off their luxurous ways they may taſte of theſe sweets of life which I have done. viz. I can reliſh herbs, ſweet roots and fruit, and can fill my belly, pleaſe my appitite, and nouriſh my body, and refreſh my faint ſpirits with thoſe neceſſories of uſe which prolong the ſame; dainty diſhes, rich and high ſeaſoned ſauces, are my antidote, and will be deſtructive to ſuch as fellows them; but I can't dwell any longer on this ſubject, for I am obliged to declare the following Predictions; but before I ſpeak of thoſe things which are to come, I think it not improper to acquaint
