No. 66.Naples, 27th March.
On the 23rd of this month, about 2 o'clock P.M., four shocks of earthquake were felt at La Sala, but all harmless. On the same day, and at the same hour, shocks were felt in Potenza, preceded by a slighter shock at 10 A.M. These shocks have been so frequent, (sometimes sussultatory, and sometimes undulatory,) in the two provinces, that one can scarcely say that they have ever ceased, since the day which was so disastrous, to them. On the 17th, they affirm that the earth trembled incessantly, although not alarmingly or destructively.
No. 82.Naples, 17th April.
On the morning of the 10th instant, about 8, 9, and 10 o'clock, three shocks of earthquake, were felt in Reggio, the two first, brief and slight, the other, longer and more severe. In Palmi, a commune of the same province, at a quarter past 11, and at half past 13, Italian time, of the 8th instant, two brief, but rather severe sussultatory shocks were felt. They were all harmless. A slight shock, preceded by a loud noise, was felt in Rodi, in the province of Capitanata, on the 13th March.
