The Town Council voted to let out the ferry from New Meadow Neck to Brooks Pasture to John Kelley ; members of General Assembly, jurymen, and town's people on train- ing and town meeting days to go over, ferry-free. Two acres and 25 rods of land were laid out for town use on New Meadow Neck for a ferry lot and wharf, said lot being 5 rods wide on the north end and ten rods on the south end. 1748.
