In front is a little pool. To the right is a small wood, through which runs a road, on which are a man and a boy. Part of the road and part of the sky, which is mostly grey, are in full sunlight. In the middle distance is a village in the shadow of clouds. In the distance is a sunlit plain. A poetic sky. The distance is unusually blue. Figures by A. van de Velde.
