The Virgin sits at a table, reading. St. Anne holds a lighted candle. The youthful St. John, with his hands crossed, looks on attentively. The Child stands leaning on His Mother's lap ; she holds Him with one hand. Beside the Child is Joseph. In the background is an indistinct figure. A masterpiece of the painter's.
