The author has collected and expounded such portions of Blackstone's Commentaries as pertain to constitutional law, bringing it down to modern times. He has, also, made pretty free use of De Lolme, and * gives ample reference to authorities for his positions. It is written in a terse and condensed style, evincing much learning and judgment on the part of the author. ' A Dissertation on the Statutes of the Cities of Italy; and a translation of the Pleadings of Prospero Farinacio in the defence of Beatrice Cenci and her relatives. A learned essay, written while the author was a student of the Middle Temple. The Pleading of Farinacio is " one of the most remarkable pieces of foreign forensic pleading of the sixteenth century, existing in Europe." 16 L. O. 35. BOYD, ROBERT.
