STR in the year 1798, and ending in the year 1816; to which are added Copies of the Statutes, Charter, and Rules of the Supreme Court. 2 vols. Svo. London. 1827. STRANGE, SIR JOHN. Reports of Cases in the Courts of Chancery, King's Bench, Common Pleas, and Exchequer, from Trinity Term, 2d Geo. I. to Trinity Term, 21st Geo. II. 3d edition, with Notes and additional References to contemporary Reporters and later Cases, by Michael Nolan. 2 vols. Svo. London. 1795. Strange's Reports are uniformly regarded as of good authority, though occasionally he is " over studious of brevity." Mr. Nolan remarks that it was his object to clear up those passages, in which the author, from his conciseness, is liable to the imputation of obscurity, and to mark those still fewer places, in which he seems to have fallen into errors. These Reports were orignally published in 2 volumes, folio, 1785, be- sides which there are two other impressions, but Mr. Nolan's edition is the latest and best. 1 Sim. 432 ; 5 Wend. 578 ; Foster's Crown Law, 294.
