FIGURE 31. Demolition of the old city of Most (top) has been going on for several years to exploit large deposits of excellent brown coal discovered under the city. People have been largely relocated to the nearby city of New Most (bottom) where 47,000 inhabitants now live. The population is expected to reach 70,000 to 80,000 in the near future. (U/OU)
