The words printed in Llack type are essentiai words which need tobe learned by heartj as occuring most often in the text and for the sake of their im- portance.

Words of the third declension have the stem inserted in brackets, except where it is the same as the Nom. Sing. (e.g. arbor). To words like tiavis the Gen. Piur. is given. Genders are given where irregular accordingto ihe rules on p. 75 and p. 129 (m. =masculine, f.=feminine, n. = neuter).
