tōa-koh-iēⁿ,
a great difference.
koh-iēⁿ se-su; koh-iēⁿ lân-ló,

he speaks differently.
i chò-sṳ̄ koh-iēⁿ,

i só-kṳ́-tõng koh-iēⁿ,

m̄-sie-tâng,
not the same,—tōa m̄-sie-tâng, greatly diverse.
kiau-tî-kâi sie-tâng?
with which one is it alike? (often implies difference).
ũ kâi m̄-sie-tâng,
some are not alike.
m̄-sie-tâng chiũ-mài,
if not the same I don’t want them.
àiⁿ-sie-tâng,
I want them alike.
chí--iēⁿ hṳ́--iēⁿ kak m̄-sie-tâng,
this kind and that, each is different.
sĩ-m̄-hû,
don’t correspond,—m̄-hû-ha̍h, don’t match.
kim-ji̍t kâi-ūe kũa-cha-ji̍t kâi-ūe m̄-siang-hû,
to-day’s words and those of yesterday don’t agree.
kiau-hṳ́--kâi m̄-hû,
don’t correspond with that.

chua̍h-m̄-uãⁿ,

m̄-tâng-iēⁿ,

there are many kinds each different,
ũ-kâi-tōa, ũ-kâi-sòi,
some are large and some are small.
sie bô-kàu-húe,
burned not sufficiently (as of tiles).
m̄-ha̍h chhùn-chhieh,
don’t correspond to the measurement, i.e. out of proportion.
lṳ́ chò-nî m̄-tùi-uá chhó-chhiàng?
why do you not accord with the agreement.
