Franchifes, Procefs fhall be made againft him by the Common Law till he were outlawed ; (3) and that after fuch Outlawry pronounced, and Return made thereof, the Juftices before whom fuch Outlawry fhall be returned, fhould thereof make Certificate to fuch Minifter and Minifters of the faid Franchifes, as to them beft fhould feem in this Behalf, according to their Difcretion ; (4) and fuch Felon fhall be taken by fuch Minitler or Minifters, and his Lands and Tenements, Goods and Chatties, being within ' the fame Franchifes, feifcd into the Hands of the Lords of the fame Franchifes for the time being, as forfeit; (5J and that the other Lands and Tene- ments, Goods and Chatties of fuch Felons out of the fame Franchifes, fhall wholly remain to the King, and to other Lords having thereof Franchifes, as forfeit ; (6) faving always to the King the For- feitures of fuch Murderers, Traitors, Manflayers, Robbers, and all fuch Offenders, and of other Things, which to him pertain as of the Right of his Crown. (7) And forafmuch as like Murders, Trea- fons, Manflaughters, Robberies, Confents, and Of- fences by divers Perfons, Thieves, and Felons, cal- led Intakers and- Out£arters, dwelling within the* Outputters.. Franchife of Ridefdale, in which Franchife the King's Writ doth not run, as it is faid, have been done now of late in divers Places in the Counties of Nntbum- berland, Cumberland, Wejtms land, and eifevi of the fame Franchife of Ridefdale^ by Fa.vou,r aja Succour of the fame Franchife, whereof no Redrefs towards them hath been had by the Laws heretofore ufed, to the great Mifchief, Peril, and Damage of the People fo grieved, as our Sovereign Lord the King, by the grievous Complaint to him made in this prefent Parliament, hath fully perceived :" ' (8J Our faid Sovereign Lord the King, willing to remedy the fame, hath ordained and ftablifhed in the fame Parliament, That fuch Procefs, Certificate, and Ex- ecution fhall be made hereafter againft fuch Murder- ers, Manflayers, Robbers, Confenters, a.:d Offenders, abiding or refident within the faid Franchife of Ridef- dale, for their Offences done out of the faid Franchife -of Ridefdale.
