CAP. XXVI. An Act for certain Ordinances in the King's Dominion and Principality of Wales. Wall'ia Wales, is pleafed and contented to be enacted by the Affent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and the jzEJ.i. Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, in Manner and Form as £</. 3. c. a. as hereafter enfueth. II. Firft, That his Grace's faid Dominion, Principality, and Country of Wales, be from henceforth di- Wales divided vided into twelve Shires; (2) of the which eight have beenShires of long and ancient Time, That is to fay, sh'° twslve The Shires of Glamorgan, Caermarthen, Pembroke, Cardigan, Flint, Caernarvan, Anglefey and Merioneth ; st'h.S. c. 26. (3) an ^ ^ our °f t ' ne ^ a '^ twelve Shires be newly made and ordained to be Shires, by an Ait made at the Par- liament holden at Weflminjler in the twenty-feventh Year of our faid Sovereign Lord's moft noble Reign, that is to fay, The Shires of Radnor, Brecknock, Mountgomery and Denbigh, over and befides the Shire of Monmouth, and divers other Dominions, Lordfhips and Manors in the Marches of Wales, united and an- nexed to the Shires of Salop, Hereford and Glocefter, as by the faid late Act more plainly appeareth. Limitation of III. Item, That the Limitations of the Hundreds, of late made within the faid Shires by Virtue of his Hundreds by Grace's Commiffions directed out of his Highnefs Court of Chancery, and again returned into the fame, Commiffion. fhall ftand in full Strength, Force and Effect, according to the faid Limitation ; except fuch of the fame as fith that Time hath been altered or changed by Virtue of any Act or Acts of Parliament already made, 01 that fhall; be altered or changed by any Act or Acts in this prefent Seflion to be made. Prefident and IV. Item, That there fhall be and remain a Prefident and Council in the faid Dominion and Principality Council. of Wales, and the Marches of the fame, with all Officers, Clerks and Incidents to the fame, in Manner Repealed by and Form as hath been heretofore ufed and accuftomed ; (2) which Prefident and Council fhall have Power 1 W. & M. feff. an( j Authority to hear and determine, by their Wifdoms and Difcretions, fuch Caufes and Matters as j.c 27. §. 2. be or hereafter fliall be affigned to them by the King's Majefty, as heretofore hath been accuftomed and ufed. Seffions of Wales V. Item, That there fhall be holden and kept Seffions twice in every Year, in every of the faid Shires in twice in a Year, the faid Dominion and Principality of Wales, 'that is to fay, in the Shires of Glamorgan, Brecknock, Radnor, Caermarthen, Pembroke, Cardigan, Montgomery, Denbigh, Flint, Caernarvan, Merioneth and Anglefey ; the which Seffions fhall be called the King's great Seffions in Wales. ^ Tuftice of Che- VI. Item, That the Juftice of Chefter for the Time being fhall hold and keep Seffions twice in every Year, ikr. in the Shires of Denbigh, Flint and Montgomery, and have nothing but his old Fee of an hundred Pounds yearly for the fame. Juftice of North VII. Item, That the Juftices of North Wales fhall in likewife hold and keep Seffions twice every Year, Wales. in every of the faid Shires of Caernarvan, Merioneth and Anglefey, and fhall have yearly of the King's Ma- jefty a yearly Fee of fifty Pounds for the fame. juflice of Rad- VIII. Item, That one Perfon learned in the Laws, of this Realm of England, by the King's Majefty to be nor, &c. named and appointed, fhall be Juftice of the Shires of Radnor, Brecknock and Glamorgan, and fhall in like- wife hold and keep Seffions twice in every Year, in every of the fame Shires, and fhall have yearly of the King's Majefty fifty Pounds for his Fee. Juftice of Caer- IX. Item, That one other Perfon learned in the Laws of this Realm, to be appointed as is aforefaid, marthen. fhall be Juftice of the Shires of Caermarthen, Pembroke and Cardigan, and fliall in likewife hold and keep Seffions twice in every Year, in every of the fame Shires, and fhall alfo have yearly, of die King's Majefty fifty Pounds for his Fee. Patents under X. Item, The faid Perfons or Juftices, and every of them now being, or that hereafter fhall be, fhall ihe Great Seal, have feveral Letters Patents and Commiflions for their Offices, under the King's Seal of England, to be ex- ercifed by themfelves or their fufficient Deputies, according to the Purpofes and Intents in thefe Ordinances fpecified.
