Be it therefore enafled by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent Apothecaries i of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament aflembled, and by the Au- within London, ! thority of the fame, That all and every Perfon and Perfons, uling and exercifing, or that hereafter fhall ^(Jer^of J.^emrt ' ufe and exercife, the Art of an Apothecary within the faid City of London, and feven Miles thereof, being f,om Offices. ■ Free of the faid Society, and who already have been, or hereatter fliall be duly examined of his Skill in the j faid Myftery, and fliall be approved of for the fame, and every of them, for lb long as he or they fliall ufe "j and exercife the faid Art, and no longer, {hall and may at all Times hereafter be freed and exempted from the feveral Offices of Conftable, Scavenger, Overfeer of the Poor, and all other Parifh, Ward, and Leet Of- j iices, and of and from the being put into or ferving upon any Juries or Inquefts; and if at any Time here- j after any fuch Perfon or Perfons ufing the faid Art, and being qualified as aforefaid, fhall be chofen or elefted into any of the faid Offices, or returned, required, or appointed to ferve in any Jury, Leetj or In- '; queft, or be diCquieted or difturbed by Reafon thereof, that then fuch Perfon or Perfons, producing a Tefti- i monial under the common Seal of the faid Corporationj of fuch his Examination, Approbation, and Free- dom, to the Perfon or Perfons, by whom he fhall be fo eledfed or appointed, or by or before whom he fhall j be fo fummoned, returned, or required to ferve or hold any of the faid Offices or Duties, fhall be abfolutely j difcharged from the fame, and fuch Nomination, Eleftion, Return, and Appointment fhall be utterly ■ void, and of none EffeiSt; any Order, Cuftom, Law, or Statute, to the contrary in any wife notwith- '■ ftanding. ; III. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That all Perfons ufing and exercifing, or that Country Apo- hereafter fliall ufe and exercife the faid Art of an Apothecary within any other Parts of this Kingdom, Do- thecaries, who i minion of Wales, or Town of Berivick upon Txveed, and who have been brought up and ferved, or hereafter ^'"= fetved 7 ^ fhall be brought up and ferve in the faid Art as an Apprentice, by the Space of feven Years, according to Years, exempted | the Statute of the fifth of Queen Elizabeth, fliall likewife from henceforth be freed and exempted from Jelc. 4.
