III. And be it further enaded by the Authority aforefaid. That all Eleftions of a Regifter to be made Reglfter to be or appointed by virtue of this A<S, fhall be performed by balloting, in Manner following j that is to fay, eleaed by baUot. AH the Freeholders that at the Time of anyfuch EleiEcion have an Eftate of Freehold of or in any Lands, ""^' Tenements or Hereditaments within the faid Eq/l Riding, and the faid Town and County of the Town of King/ion upon HuH, or in either of them, of the yearly Velue of one hundred Pounds, to be deter- mined by the Oath of the Eleftor, before the Scrutators herein after mentioned, if any Doubt arife touch- ing the fame (which Oath they are hereby impowered to adminifter) fhall be eleftors of the faid Regifter; and that the Juftices of the Peace for the faid Eq/i Riding, in that Behalf aflembled, or the major Part of them, or any five of fuch Juftices to be appointed by fuch major Part, fhall be Scrutators of the Ballot, who fliall meet on the Day and Place of Eleftion, and there in the Prefence of the Eleftors, fhall place one or more Glafs Vefiels to be provided for that Purpofe, into which each elector prefent ihall put one open Paper, containing the Name of fuch Perfon as he approves of to be Regifi-er; which Papers fhall be taken out again in the Prefence of the faid Scrutators, by a Perfon by them in that Behalf appointed ; and the Name or Names of every Perfon therein fhall be once tranfcribed in Diftinct Columns, and under each Name fhall be fet down the Number of their Electors, which fliall be deliberately caft up by the faid Scrutators, and the fame fhall be read over in the Hearing, and fixt up in the View of the Electors then prefent, and the Perfon upon v/hom the Majority fhall fall, fhall be declared Regifter. IV. And be it further enadted by the Authority aforefaid. VI. And be it further enafted.
