D. 1722. tor of Receipt aforefaid, the Officers there fhall, without producing fuch Affidavit as aforefaid, caufe an Entry or Memorial thereof to be made in the Book of Regiftry for fuch Orders, without Fee or Charge • and after fuch Entry made, fuch Affignment {hall entitle fuch Affignee, his, her or their Executors, Ad! n iniftrators, Succeffors or Affigns to the Benefit thereof, and Payment thereon, and fuch Affignee may in like Manner affign again, and fo toties quoties ; and afterwards it fhall not be in the Power of fuch Perfon or Perfons, who have or hath made fuch Affignments, to make void, releafe or difcharge the fame, or any Monies thereby due, or any Part thereof; any Thing in the faid former Acts, or any or either of them to the contrary notwithstanding. II. And forafmuch as it may happen, That feveral of the faid Orders, which at firft were made out for fmall Sums, may in Time come into the Hands of one and the fa're Perfon, who may be willing and ' defirous to have feveral of the faid Orders for fmall Sums exchanged for, and turned into one or more Order or Orders tor larger Sums, which may be an Eafe and Convenience, not only to the Owners of ' fuch Orders for fmall Sums, but alfo to the Officers of the Exchequer, in the Payment thereof;' Be it therefore enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That any three'or more of the Commiffioners of the Trea- sury now being, or the High Treafurer, or any three or more of the Commiffioners of the Treafury for SutrJT b^ thC Timebein S' may (if he or they fhall fo think fit) direct the turning feveral Orders for fmallSums turnedlhto Or- °^ vt hundred Pounds principal Money a-piece, or under, into one or more Order or Orders for larger ders for greater. Sums, and may caufe to be made forth and figned new ftanding Orders accordingly, for and in Lieu "of fuch Orders for fmall Sums ; in which Cafe the faid former Orders for fmall Sums, fo to be turned into an Order or Orders for larger Sums, fhall be delivered up and cancelled ; and the faid new Order or Orders, to be made out in Lieu thereof, fhall be made payable to the Perfon or Perfons, who fhall appear to be the Proprietor or Proprietors of the faid Orders for fmall Sums fo delivered up and cancelled at the Time of fuch Delivery up as aforefaid : And the faid Auditor of the Receipt aforefaid fhall constantly take Care, on the making of fuch new Orders, not to mix any Order or Orders made out in Purfuance of any one of the faid Ails of Parliament, with any Order or Orders made out in Purfuance of any other of the {aid Acts of Parliament, to prevent any Confufion in the Accounts to be kept thereof; and that fuch Entries and Memorandums be made upon the faid new Orders, as may denote their being made out in Lieu of fuch Orders for fmall Sums delivered up and cancelled, and as may fecure the Publick againft any double Payment, for or by Reafon of the making out or ilTuing fuch new Orders in Manner aforefaid. III. And whereas it may fo happen in Procefs of Time, that feveral of the faid ftanding Orders may become defaced, obliterated or incumbred with many Affignments endorfed thereon, and by Reafon c thereof, or fome other Defects therein, it may become neceffary that the faid defaced, obliterated, in- cumbred or otherwife defective Orders fhould be taken in and cancelled, and new Orders made forth and delivered to the Owners and Proprietors of the Orders fo to be cancelled in Lieu thereof;' fie it therefore enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That in all or any of the faid Cafes any three or more of the Commiffioners of the Treafury now being, or the High Treafurer, or any three or more of the Corn- New Orders may rn ' u oner s of the Treafury for the Time being, may (if he or they fhall fo think fit) from time to time be made out in caL,1 " e to be made forth new ftanding Orders for and in Lieu of fuch defaced, obliterated, incumbred, or Lieuoffuchas otherwife defective Orders, fo as fuch defaced, obliterated, incumbred or otherwife defective Order or ars defaced, &c. IV. And for the preventing all Frauds and Abufes in or about the faid ftanding Orders, or any Affign- ments thereof, or the receiving the Annuities due or to grow due thereon ; Be it enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Perfon or Perfons whatfoever, from and after the fecond Day of April one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-three, fhall forge or counterfeit, or procure to be forged or counterfeited, or knowingly or wilfully act and affift in the forging or counterfeiting any Order or Orders made forth or to be made forth in Purfuance of any the before mentioned Acts, or of this prefent Act, or any Affignment or Affignments of fuch Order or Orders, or of the Annuities payable thereon, or of any Receipt or Dif- , charge to the Exchequer for the Annuities due or to grow due on any fuch ftanding Order or Orders, or of any Letter of Attorney, or other Authority or Inftrument to transfer, affign, alien or convey any fuch Order or Orders, or to receive the Annuities due or to grow due thereon, or-any Part thereof, or fhall forge or counterfeit, or procure to be forged or counterfeited, or knowingly or wilfully Act or affift in Orders" Felonv the f ? r p' n £ or counterfeiting any the Name or Names of any of the Proprietors of any fuch Order or Or- s, vom. c j ers • ■ or tQ ar| y ^ ic ^ p ie tended Affignment, Receipt, Letter of Attorney, Inftrument or Authority, or fhall knowingly and fraudulently demand, or endeavour to have or receive any fuch Annuity'or Annui- ties, or any Part thereof, by Virtue of any fuch forged or counterfeited Receipt, Letter of Attorney, In- ftrument or Authority, or {hall falfly and deceitfully perfonate any true and real Proprietor or Proprietors of any the faid Order or Orders, and thereby affigning or endeavouring to affign any of the faid Order or Orders, or receiving or endeavouring to receive the Money of fuch true and lawful Proprietors, as if fuch Offender were the true and lawful Owner thereof; then and in every or any fuch Cafe, all and every fuch,
