And be it further enacted and declared, That in all future ProcefTes of Modification and Aug. mentation of Stipends, the aforefaid annual Rates payable by the Minifters of the Church of Scotland, by virtue of this prefent Act, {hall be deemed and computed as Part of their Stipends; any Thing he'rein contained to the contrary notwitbftanding. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if the Univerfity of Aberdeen, or y of the Colleges therein, fhall apply to the next General Aflembly of the Church of Scotland, decla- ring that they delire to be comprehended in this Act; the Heads, Principals and Mafters in the faid Uni- verfity of Aberdeen, or in either of the Colleges of the faid Univerfity, fhall be comprehended in this Act and fhall be fubject to the annual Rates and other Burdens hereby impofed; and they, and their Widows and Children refpectivcly, final] be intitled to the Privileges and Provifions herein contained, in like Man-

H E R E A S in and by an Act of Parliament, made and paffed in the fixteenth Year of his Ma- jefty's Reign, intituled, An Ail for repealing certain Duties on Spirituous Liquors, and on Licences for retailing the fame; and for laying other Duties on Spirituous Liquors, and on Licences to retail the faid Li- quors; it was amongft other Things enacted, That from and after the twenty-fifth Day of Alarch, which fhould be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and forty-three, there fhould be railed, levied and paid unto his Majefty, his Heirs and Succeflbrs, for the feveral Spirituous Liquors made, extracted and manufactured in Great Britain, and therein mentioned, fpecified and enumerated (over and above all Duties, Charges and Impofitions by any former Act of Parliament thereupon re- fpeclively fet, rated and impofed) the feveral Rates and Duties of Excife therein mentioned and' ex- p re'ITed, with divers Provifions and Directions in the faid Act contained, for raifing, managing and collecting the faid Rates and Duties, and paying the fame into the Receipt of his Majefty's Exchequer, diftinctly and apart from all other Branches of the publick Revenues, fubject and liable to fuch Ufes, ' • ' A'p-
