The Corprrati- Be it therefore furtiier enacted. That the Receiver for the Time being of the faid Corporation fhall, out ons Receiver IS ^j: j-Vjg Taxes and Revenues of the South and Middle Levels (Part of the faid Great Level) pay, upon ^^^^j^°"^j^°*'* Demand, to the Collcaor or Colleftors to be appointed by the faid CommifTioners, all fuch Rates and Scuih and Mid- Taxes as are or fhall be charged by Virtue of this A£l upon the faid Invclted Lands, or any Part lile Levels, the tliercof, until the fame fhall be fold, as herein after is directed; and fuch Receiver ihall be, and he Rntes ch.ngtable iij hereby abfolutcly difcharged and indemnified of and for the Sums fo by him paid to the faid Col- hereiyonthe jector or Collectors, as if fuch Sums h?.d been paid to and by the Qrder and Direction of the faid Corporation. XXVIII. And be it further enacted, That it fhall be lawful for the faid Governor, Bajyiffs and Con- fervators or any feven or more of them, whereof the faid Governor or Bailiffs or any oS*^m, to be two, to caufe the faid Invefted Lands to be publickly fold by Auction, either all together or Ih'T^'ots as they nov/ ^'drsak"" *'^^^^' ^° ^^^ ^^^ Bidder or Bidders, at the Shire-houfe in £/y, at any yf/>;v7 Meeting of tb(- faid Corpora- "*■' * '^* tion i of which Sale or Sales publick Notice fhall be given in the London Gazette^ and alfo in the Cam- brige and Ipfwich 'Journals^ if fuch News Papers fhall then continue to be publiflied; and fhall alfo be af- fixed in TVriting, under the Seal of the faid Corporation, at or upon the faid Shire-houfe, one Month at Corporation to the leaft before the Time of fuch Sale; and that after any of the faid Lands Ihall be fo fold, the faid Go- irske a Convey- yernor. Bailiffs and Confervators, or any feven or more of them as aforefaid, fhall grant or convey, un- ancejhereof to j^^ j-^g gggj of the faid Corporation, the Lands fo fold, to the refpeclive Purchafer or Purchafers thereof, " "" freed and difcharged of and from all Rates and Taxes which, at any Time before fuch Sale, fliall have been rated or charged uDon the faid Lands by Virtue of the faid A61:s of the fifteenth and twentieth Years of King Charles the Second, or of any other A61: or AAs of Parliament now in Force relating to the faid Great Level; and every fuch Grant or Conveyance fhall be valid and effectual, to all Intents and Purpofes, as if fuch Lands had been fold for Non-payment of Taxes, purfuantto the faid Adts of the fif- teenth and twentieth Years of King Charles the Second. XXXIX. Provided always. That nothing in this A61 contained fhall extend, or be conffrued to extend, to iiTipower the faid Corporation to difcharge the faid Invefted Lands, or any Part thereof, from any rated after Sale, Rates or Taxes which the fame fhall, after Sale thereof as aforefaid, be liable to be rated or aftelTed with as they were ^y Virtue of the faid A6fs of the fifteenth and twentieth Years of King Charles the Second, or by Vir- tue of any other AcSt or Adis of Parliament whatfoever, relating to the faid Great Level; but that the faid Invefted Lands, after they fliall be fo fold, fhall be liable to be rated and aflefled in the fame Man- ner as they were before the making of this A£l; any Thing herein before contained to the contrary not- withftanding. XXX. And be it further enafted, That if any Adlion, Suit or Information, fhall be commenced or profecuted againft any Perfon or Perfons, for any Thing done or to be done in purfuance of this hdt^ every fuch A£tion or Suit fhall be commenced within fix Calendar Months next after the Fail commit- ted; and fhall be laid or brought in the faid CouiUy o^ Norfolk^ and not elfewhere; and the Defendant or Defendants in fuch A6lion or Suit, fhall and may plead the General Iflhc; and if in Replevin, may ju- flify and avow by virtue of this A£l, as Perfons acSling by Authority of CommifTioners of Sewers are ena- bled to do; and may give this Act and the Special Matter in Evidence, without fpecially pleading the fame, otherwife than as aforefaid, at any Trial to be had thereupon; and that the Fadt alledged in fuch A6lion or Suit to have been done, was done in purfuance and by the Authority of this Adl:; and if the fame fhall appear to have been fo done, or if any fuch AcSlion or Suit fhall be brought after the Time be- fore limited for bringing the lame, or fliall be brought in any other County or Place than as aforefaid, then the Jury fhall find for the Defendant or Defendants, Avowant or Avowants; or if the Plaintiff or Plaintiffs fhall become nonfuit, or forbear Profecution, or difcontinue his or their Suit or Suits; or if any Verdidl fhall pafs againft him, her or them upon a Demurrer, or otherwife; then or in any of the faid Cafes, the Defendant or Defendants, Avowant or Avowants, fhall recover treble Cofts, for which he, {he or they fhall have like Remedy as where Cofts by Law are awarded. XXXI. And be it further ena«ncd and declared. That this Adt fhall be deemed and allowed to be a publick Adt; and all Judges, Juftices and other Perfons, are hereby required to take Notice thereof as fuch, without fpecially pleading the fame.
