to the End that the faid Fen Lands and Low Grounds may be diained. improv .-d and preferved. May it pleafe your Majefty, that it may be enai^ed ; And be it enaded by the King's fr»o!l Excel- lent Majefty, by and v^ith the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Tcuipoi:i', aad Com- mons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, Tnat the faid Fen Lands and Low Grounds, intended to be drained under the Powers and Aut lorities of this pre- fent Aft, fhall be divided into two feparate Diftriils or Divifions, iu Manner following ; that ^s to fay. The firft of the faid Diftridts or Divifions fhall contain all that Part of the faid Fen Lands and Low Grounds, which are North Weft of an old Sewer called Baldwin's Loady and are b. unded as follows; to wit. From Brandon Creek's End., by the Eaft Bank of the River Ovf to Prichvillow Br:dgey and from thence by the North Bank of Jlllhhnhall River, to the faid Scwr called BaLnvin's Load, and then along the faid Load to the Outrlng Ditch of the Adventure Land taken out of Coplow Fen, -.nd then by the faid Ditch to the Dicch between Mildcnhall Co?nmon and the Severals, and along th? laft mentioned Ditch to a Place called The fViibws, and then along a Drove-way on the North Side of Lilly Field to Peaver's Load, otherwife Ear/well Brooke, and then vilong the Weft Side of the faid Brooke to Winter Load, and by the faid Load and Lakenheath Old Load to Plant Load, and by Plant Load to the Adventure Land called Arkinjlall, and then through Arkinjlall Eajl Moor in Lakenheath and Lowell Moor to the Bank lately made by George Wright Efquire, and along the faid Bank to the Adventure Land taken out of Redmoor Fen, and then by the Outring Ditch, on the South and Weft Sides of Redmoor Fen, to the South Bank of Brandon River, and along the laft mentioned Bank to the River Oufe, at Brandon Creek's End aforefaid : And the ferond Diftridt or Divifion fhall contain that Part of the faid Fen Lands and Low Grounds on the South Eaft of Baldwin's Load, lying in the faid Parifh of Mildenhall, amounting (over and above High and Skirt Grounds) to about three thoufand four hundred Acres, which are bounded as follows ; that is to fay. From the South Weft End of Baldwins Load, by the North Bank of Mildenhall River to the Hardlands of We/i Row,. and then along the Skirts of the Hardlands of Mildenhall Rows to a Drove-way at the South Weft Corner of Litly Field, and from thence by the Skirts of the Hardlands of HoUwell Row and the Edge of the Harji, next Elden Lane, to Reaver's Load, otherwife Earfwell Brooke, and along the Weft Side of the faid Brooke to a Drove- way at the North Eaft End of Litly Field, and then along the faid Drove- way, the Skirts of Litly Field, and the Willows, to the Ditch between Mildenhall Common and the Severals, and along the South Side of the faid Ditch to the Outring Ditch of the Adventure Land taken out of Coploiv Fen, and along the Eaft Side of the laft-mentioned Ditch to Baldivin's Ltad, and then along the South Eaft Side of the faid Load to the North Bank of Mil- denhall River, at the South Weft End of Baldwin's Load aforefaid. IL And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That the Lord Bifliop of Ely, the Lord, or Lords, Lady or Ladies of the Manor of Littleport for the Time being, or in his, her or their Abfcnce refpeftively, his, her or their refpedtive Agent or Deputy, appointed by Writing under his, her or their refpeftive Hands, an Agent appointed by the Dean and Chapter of £/y, under their Common Seal, and every Perfon who, for the Time being, fhall be bona fide feiled or poflefled in his or her own Right, of three hundred Acres of Land, taxed by virtue of this Aft, lying within the faid firft Diftrift, not being Tenant at Rack-rent, or in the Abfence of any fuch Perfon, his or her Agent, to be appointed under his or her Hand as aforefaid, and fuch other Perfons as are hereby appointed and direfted to be chofen for the Townfhip of Ely, and the feveral Pariflies of ^ Littleport, Mildcnhall and Lakenheath, (hall be Commiflioners for putting this Aft, and all the Powers' and Authorities herein after mentioned in Execution, within the faid firft Diftrift; and that James Harknefs Efquire, Aungier Love Peacock, and Thomas Page, fhall be the firft Commiflioners for the _ raid Townfhip of Eh', Henry Mor ley ')xnor, and Henry Tanjley, fnall be the firft Commiflioners for' the faid Parifh of Littleport ; John Drage Efquire, and Robert Hanjlip, fhall be the firft Commif- iloners for the (zd Faiifh of Mildenhall ; and John Ha?ifiip fhall be the firft Commiffioner for the faid Parifli of Lakenheath ; and that thefe Perfons fhall continue Commiifioners for the faid firft Dillrift, in refpcft of the faid Townfhip and Parifhes, until the fecond Tuefday in April in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and fixty-one; and that fo many other Commiflioners for the faid Diftrift fhall be yearly chofen at the Shire-houfe in Ely, by fuch Perfons as, for the Time being, fhall be bona fide feifed or pofTefiTed in his or her own Right, of fix Acres of taxable Land lying in the faid Diftrift, belonging to each of the Towns of Ely and Mildenhall, as fhall make in the Whole one CommifTioner for every three hundred Acres of taxable Land in the faid Diftrift be-^ longing to thofe Towns refpcftively, which fhall not he veiled in the Corporation of Bedford Level ' at the Time of fuch Eleftion ; and alfo that fo many other Commiflioners for the faid Diftrift fhall be yearly chofen in the Parifh Church of Littleport, by fuch Perfons as fhall be bona fide feifed or poflefled, in his or her own, Right, of fix Acres of taxable Land in the faid Diftrift, belonging to each of the Parifhes of Littleport and Lakenheath, as fliall make in the Whole one Commiflioner for every three hundred Acres of taxable Land in the faid Diftrift, belonging to tliofe Pariflies relpectively, not inverted as aforefaid ; the Commiflioners for the Year one thoufand feven hundred and fixty-one, and for every fuccecding Year, to be chofen upon the fecond Tuefday m April : And the Eleftion of every fuch Comrnifliouer or CoinmiiTioners fhall be certified under the Hands of a major Part of the £ left 0x8
