1. Chaitra			Mīna (of previous year)								When this Table (col. 3, a, b, c) is used with cols. 9, 11 of Table I. of the Indian Calendar (which gives the t, or moments of saṁkrāntis connected with intercalated and suppressed lunar months) only the value of a can be applied to the given lunation parts, t; and therefore the result can only be approximate. But the most extreme divergence from the correct result can only be (a =) + 3 or − 3, total 6, in the case of the Karka, Siṁha, and Kanyā saṁkrāntis; (a =) + 2 or − 2, total 4, in the case of the Tulā saṁkrānti; and (a =) + 1 or − 1, total 2, in the case of the Mithuna, Vṛiśchika, Dhanus, Makara, Kumbha, and Mīna saṁkrāntis.
