earnestly pray for the good estate of Thy Church on earth. She is truly thy bride and wife. Seen in her spiritual glory, she is clothed with the sun, the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars. How beautiful her aspect, thus imbued with celestial love! her pure faith as a sure foundation, and her crown of twelve stars, the fulness of wisdom and knowledge, upon her head. O grant her thy peace, for Thou hast given Thyself for her.
Gracious Father, keep our hearts and minds ever fixed on Thee, that so we may be blessed with thy continual presence, and dwell in thy house for ever. Accept, Lord, our feeble but humble sacrifice at this time, and prepare our minds for the delightful devotions of the approaching Sabbath. O guard us through this night's repose, that we may with renewed vigour and strength follow Thee in the way of life.
