brought us to the close of another six days' labour, preparatory to the approaching Sabbath of rest. O enable us to regard every Sabbath here below as the bright and peaceful emblem of that eternal sabbath of rest above, where all temptations, doubts, and trials, to which, in our probationary day, we are subject, are changed to those joys and confirmations in truth and goodness, which give a lasting tranquillity to angelic life! As nothing unclean can enter the abodes of thy kingdom, we are assured that there the wicked can never trouble, and there the weary are at rest.—O God and Father of our souls! prepare us by thy good Spirit for the delightful services of the approaching Sabbath.
