Sunday Morning.
O THOU great. Omniscient, and Omnipresent God! to whom all hearts are known, and from whom no secrets can possibly be hid; help us, we beseech Thee, in this the dawning of thy Sabbath, to begin the day with prayer to Thee for thy blessing on our devotions. Grant that in the solemnities of this day, through a diligent hearkening to thy Word, our eyes may behold wondrous things out of thy Law. May its hallowed precepts be to us the law of life, and the regulator of all our ways. Give us this day to feel a spiritual hungering and thirsting after righteousness, that we may be filled with the good things of thy kingdom; so we, thy people, shall give Thee thanks for ever, and shew forth thy praise to all generations. Thou hast taught us in thy Word that the steps of a good man are ordered by Thee, and that Thou delightest in his way. O may all our steps, our progressive states in the regenerate life, be under thy Divine control, so that, being raised from the death of sin to the life of righteousness, we may rejoice in thanks-
