and our good; so shall we work joyously in thy vineyard while it is day, and whatsoever is right in the day of reckoning, thou wilt in mercy bestow.

Wednesday Morning.
MOST adorable Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! help us, we beseech Thee, this morning, to approach Thee with reverence, and to ask thy divine blessing and guidance through this day. Shepherd of Israel! Thou hast in mercy been our dwelling-place in all generations, and to Thee may we ever look for the supply of all our future wants. Thou hast been pleased to designate Thyself as the Truth—the Word made flesh. O grant that whenever we read thy Holy Word, we may remember, in contemplating its glorious truth, that Thy bright presence will always enlighten and bless the souls who meet Thee there! It is in the reading of Thy Word that we feel Thy presence! It is a holy state of meditation thereon, that is the appointed place where Thou hast promised to meet thy people, and there shall we receive the bread and the wine that thou hast blessed, to nourish and strengthen us in our regenerate course. O may thy Divine Good, which Thou hast been pleased to name the Bread of Life, be our constant food, knowing that it is indeed the true bread from heaven, given to nourish the soul unto everlasting life. May thy Truth also, which Thou hast consecrated to our use, and called the wine and blood of the new covenant, and commanded us to drink thereof, so
