OW "excellent is thy loving-kindness. O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures." Gracious God! what sweet and precious words are these! and how often do thy faithful people realize in themselves, day by day, their truth. Thy loving-kindness or mercy is indeed precious! it is excellent, because in Thee it is changeless and everlasting, therefore do the children of men put their trust and confidence in Thee. We fee!. O Lord, that thy Zeve, celestial and pure as it is, and offered to all alike, is indeed the fatness of thy house. This is the satisfying food of heaven, abundantly given for the spiritual sustenance of all who hunger after righteousness. While thy mercy imparts to us the fatness of thy house for the growth of our affections. Thou hast also given us to drink of the river of thy pleasures, that so the sacred stream of Truth may satisfy and refresh our understandings with all heavenly knowledge. ' May these precious gifts of thy love and wisdom be our meat and drink for ever; then shall we know that with Thee is the Fountain of Life, and that only in thy light can we see light. God of mercy, we beseech Thee to dismiss us with Thy blessing, and to Thee we ascribe all honour and glory for ever. Our Father, &c.
