of expiring life; and may thine angels, those ministering spirits for good, conduct every newly-risen soul to the bright regions of eternal peace.

Blessed art Thou, O Lord Jesus our God, the God of our fathers, who turnest the shadow of death into the morning, and renewest the face of the earth; who, makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice. O prepare us for the reception of that peace which Thou impartest freely to all the children of men. Thou art our shelter from the storm, from all the contending passions of the natural mind; therefore, O gracious Father, we beseech Thee to calm our doubts, to soothe our anxieties, to brighten up our prospects, and to inspire us with newness of life. We bless Thee for thy providential protection through this day, and know that thou wilt watch over us during the night season. Into thy hands we commend our spirits.

ALMIGHTY LORD GOD and Saviour Jesus Christ, refreshed by the sweet repose of sleep, we would now humbly approach the footstool of thy Divine Majesty, and implore thy blessing and protection throughout this day. Remove far from our hearts all coldness of affection towards thy church and its duties. May no impure or earthly consideration step in between us and the true worship of Thee in the assembly of thy people. May we sincerely desire the peace and prosperity of thy New Church; for thou hast assured us in thy Word that they shall prosper that love Jerusalem, the city of our God. O thou
