Besides the " promotion " of an Irish Viscountcy (Northland) to the Earldom of liA-vi-uKiT [J.j the3" ware, if divided into 3 classes, as under, vis., 3 Marquessates [Ails a, Breadalbane and Westminster] and 2 Earldoms [Camtehdown and Licm-iEM)] conferred on Peers of lower grade, i.e. the Earls of Cassillis [&.}, Breadal- bane [S.] (both being Peers U.K.), and Grosvenor, and the Viscounts Duncan and Anson ; 7 Baronies [Kenlis, Chawouth, Dunjioke, Ludlow, Hamilton ox Wishaw, Howden, and Cloncurry] conferred on Scotch and Irish Peers, i.e. the Marquess of Headfort [I.], the Earl of Meath [I.], the Earl of Dunmore [S.], Earl Ludlow [I.], Lord Belhaven [S.], Baron Howden [I.], and Baron Cloncurry [I.] ; and also 9 Baronies conferred on commoners, tit., Panmure (Maute); Oakley {Cadogan); Poltimoue ( Bamfylde) ; Wenlock (Laiolc y) ; Mosttn {Lloyd); Seoiiave {Berkeley); Templemoke (Chichester) ; Dinorben (Hughes); and De Saumarez (Snumarez). Total ; 3 Marquessates, 3 Earldoms and 16 Baronies, viz, in all (besides the Irish Earldom of Ranfurly) 22, the same number [U.K.] as those nr. by his br. and predecessor, George IV, in 1821 on the like occasion, and twice the number of those cr. at the coronation of Queen Victoria in 1838. Ho is said to have spent as much as £200,000 on building and adorning his estate of Lyons Castlo. His " Recol- lections" were published in 1849.
