Iu 1431 lie and his second wife founded the College of Lindfield. He m. firstly Eleanor, da. of Sir Thomas CoLEPKPER, of Rayal. She d. 1422, and was bur. at Lingfield. Brass and M.I. He in. secondly, iu or shortly before 1427, Anne, widow of Sir William Clifford, da. and coheir of Thomas (Baedolph), Loud Bardulph, by Joane, da. of Ralph (Cromwell), Loud Crom- well. (by his 1st wife) of Sir Reginald C , of Sterborough abovenamed, d. v. p. (1441-42) 20 Hen. VI. She nt, as his second wife, after Oct. 1437, Ralph (Netill), 2nd Earl ok Westmorland, when the family estates were settled (by her grand- father) on her and her issue, with rem. to her uncle, Sir Thomas Cobham. The Earl d. 3 Nov. 1484, aged about 80. She d. s.p.s. before 1471, ( b ) probably about 1460, and was bur. at Doncaster, iu the Church of the Friars Minor. Y, 1 160 ? 5. Sir Reginald Cobham, of Sterborough Castle, de jure apparently Lohd Cobham, but never eo styled, uncle and h., being 2nd but 1st surv. s. and h. male of Sir Reginald C, by his 1st wife, Eleanor, da. of Sir Thomas Colepeper abovenamed. He site, to the family estates on the death s.p. of his niece abovenamed. He m, Auna, widow of Aubrey de Verb (beheaded with his father, the Earl of Oxford, 26 Feb. 1461/2), da. of Humphrey (Stapkord), Duke op BUCKINGHAM, by Ann, da. of Ralph (Nevill), 1st Earl op Westmorland. He d. s.p.m. legit. ( b ) 1471, and was bur at Lindfield. Will dot, 2 April, and pr. 10 July 1471. ( c ) His widow d. April 1472, and was bur at Lindfield. Will dat 12 April, and pr. 2 May 1472. VI. 1471. 6. Anne Cobham, de jure, apparently, suo jure, Baroness Cobham, only da. and h. She was m. (when very young) to Edward (Blount), 2nd Baron Montjoy, who d. s.p., aged 8, and was bur. 1 Dec. 1 475, at the Grey Friavs, London.^) She hi. secondly Edward (Burgh or Borough), Lord Bubgh, who became "distracted of memorie," and d. (1528-29) 20 Hen. VIII. She d. (1526-27) 18 Hen. VIII. See " Burgh," Barony by writ, cr. 1487, with which dignity any right to this Barony of Cobham became, on the death of this lady, united.
