He was b. 25 Oct. and bap. 19 Nov. 1811 at Bromley Palace, Kent. He was sometime Lieut. 7th Hussars. He hi. 12 June 1S37, Anne, da. of Thomas W. J. Northampton; sue. his father 17 May 1575, was knighted 1591, cr. a Baronet 10 June 1615, and was, 10 days later, raited to the Peerage W above stated. He m. Elizabeth, da. of Anthony (Bhowne), 1st Viscount Montacut, by his 2d wife, Magdalen, da. of William (Dacke}, Low) Dacke de Gilucsland. He d. 8 Nov. 1616. Inq. post mortem 19 Jany. 1610/7. Will pr 1616. His widow's will pr. 1631. own name, Sir Dudley Carlton, who does not appear to have been related to him." This hist faet is quite clear, and as Sir Guy had no territorial interest whatever iu Dorchester or the county of Oxford, this assumption must be classed among those exercised by Smith, iu 1796 (as to the title of Carrington), by Parker, in 1815 (as to that of Morley), &c., Sec., and doubtless, in the not far distant future, to be exercised hy "Brown, Jones and Robinson," as to the titles of Montagu, Ranelagh and Rokeby (") See " Creations 14S3-1646 " in ap. 47th Rep.
