TnoMAs (Galloway), Lord and Baron of Dtjn- KELD [S.]. s. and h., served heir 3 May 1662, and had a charter of the Earony of Carnbie 13 Jauy. 1071. He m. Margaret, da. of Sir Thomas Thompson, Hart. [S.J, of Duddiugstoue. III. 1GS0? 3. James (Galloway), Lord and Baron of Dcn- to held [S.], 1st s. and h. (') He was an officer in the army and was 1G90. under Viscount Dundee at the battle of Killicrankie, 17 June 1689, for which he was outlawed, and his peerage, by a decreet of forfaulture iu the Pari. [S], was, in 1690, forfeited. He retired to the Court of King James II. at St. Germain, became a Colonel in the French Army, and was slain in battle. IV. [ ] 4. James Galloway, who, but for the forfeiture would have been Lord and Baron of Dunkeld [S.], and who assumed that title, only s. and h. He became Lieut. Gen. in the French service, but d. unm. (*) The " letters patent are registered in the Register of the Great Seal but the descripton of the dignity on record is almost entirely illegible.
