Patrick (Plunkett), Lord Dunsany [I.], s. and L. whose wardship, being a minor, was granted, 1 July 1565, to Sir Christopher BaRNFavall, of Turvey, whose 11th ami yst. da. Mary (by Marion, da. of Patrick Siieule, of Shallon, co. Meath), he m. He was a person of great learning and Was one ot the Masters of the Guild of the Virgin Mary of Killeen. He sat in the Pari. fr.J of 15S5 and received from the Queen a grant of 20 horsemen and other privileges. He d. 17 March 1601. Inq, taken at Drogheda 23 July 1504.( b ) VIII. 1C01. 8. CiiRisTornER (Plunkett), Lord Dunsany [I.], only s. and h. He m., before 1595, Maud or Madeline, da. of Henry Barington, of Dethick, co. Derby, by his 1st wife, Frances, da. of Sir John Mabkham. Christopher (Plunkett), Lord Dunsany [I.J, grandson and h., being s. and h. of Edward Plunkett, by Catherine 4th da. of Randal (McDonnel), Eaicl of ANTRIM [(.], which Edward was s. and h. ap. of the last Lord and tl. v.p., May 1668. He hart a pension of i'100 a year on the establishment [I ], 1 Jany. 1687. He sat in the Pari. [I.] of 1689, sum. by James 11 (after his expulsion from England) and d. num. 1G90. XI. 1690. 11. Randall (I'lunkett), Lord Dunsany [L], In-. and h. He also adhered to James II and was. in consequence out- lawed, 16 April 1691, but being comprised in the treaty of Limerick uas thereby restored. Being a Uoman Catholic he could not sit as a Peer of Tarl. He m. firstly, before 1681, Ann, Dow. Countess ok Carunufohd [1.], da. of Sir William Pershall, of Suggenhili, co. Stafford, by Frances, da. of Walter (Aston), Loud Aston [S.] She (".) Elizabeth (his niece) who m, Nicholas Hollywood, of Tartaine, co. Dublin, was the heir general, she being da. and h. of John I'lunkett, the Jtrtt sou of the last Lord, who d. s.p.m., before 1559, v.p. ( b ) " Among those employed [circa 1600] to murder O'Neill [the celebrated Earl of Tyrone] in cold blood were Sir Geoffrey Fenton, Lord Dunsany, and Henry Oge O'Neill but they all failed." (°) The proclamation of the accession of James I. at Dublin in 1603 was subscribed by the following Roman Catholic Peers of Ireland (1) the Earl of Tyrone (2) the Viscount Gormauston, and the Barons of (3) Killeen (4 ) Trimblestou (5) Slaue and (6) Dunsany.
