Justice of the Common Pleas (1766-71), by Sarah, da. of Thomas Kivett, of Derby, took, by Royal lie, July 1789, the name of Eardley^) in lieu of that of Gideon, and was (three months later) 24 Sep. 1789, cr. BARON EARDLEY OP SPALDING [I.] lie was sometime M.P. for Cambridgesliire, as also for Coventry, in which last election he expended a large sum of money. His wife d. 1 March 1794.
