She was b. 25 Jany. 1808. Family Estates.— These, in 1883, consisted of 2,723 acres in Herts and Midx., worth £ 5,803 a year. Principal Residence. Moor Park, near Rickur.iusworth, Herts. ECHINGHAM. Barony by William de Eclungluji, Lord of the manor of Eching- Writ ' l!tm > co - Sussex, s. and h. of William E. of the same, sue. his father 1293 and was sum. to Pari, as a Baron (LORD ECHINU 1IAM) by I. 1311, writs from 19 Dec. (1311), 5 Ed. II. to 14 March (1321/2), 15 Ed. II. to but never afterwards. He appears to have d. s.p. (1326), 20 Ed. 1326. ( n ) Of the three sous of the 1st Marquess of Westminster (1) Richard site, his father in 1815 as 2d MarqueBS (2) Thomas sue. his maternal grandfather, in 1814, as Earl of Wilton, while (3) Robert, the yst. b., was, in 1857. cr. Baron Ebury ; again, in the next generation, of the two only surv. sons of the second Marquess (1) Hugh, the 3d Marquess, was, in 1874, cr. Duke of Westminster, while (2) Richard, the yst. sou, was, in 1886, cr. Baron Stalbridge. ( b ) The pedigrees concerning him are very doubtful and contradictory. A good account of them is in Banks's "Bar. Angl.," where (inter alia) is one giving him for a wife " Joane, da. of John de Arundell, Lord Maltravers," and for a son and heir "Thomas, Baron of Echingham," whose great-great-grandson and h., Sir Edward E,. of Bassam, Sussex, was father of two daughters and coheirs who m. respectively Hopton and Blennerhasset. Another and more probable pedigree makes this William to die s.p. as in the text and to be sue. by Robert, liia br. and h. (see next note) who d. s.p. (1328), 2 Ed. III. and was sue. by Simon, br. and h., who d. before (1311), 15 Ed. EH. ( c ) " Dugdale states that a Robert de Echingham was sum. to Pari. 1 Edw. III., but it appears from the writ that he was only summoned to be at Newcastle with horse and arms in that year ; he had been summoned on various like occasions to attond King Edw. II. ; ob. 1328."
