Earldom [I.] /, Luke (Plunkett), Lord Killeen [I.], s. and h. of I. 1628. Christopher, Lord Killeen(^) [I.], by Genet, da. of Sir Luke Dillon, Ch. Baron of the Exchequer [I.], sue. his father 12 Oct. 1613, being then aged 24 and sat in the Pari, of 1614 ; had a grant of 2,100 acres (the manor of Courtown) in co. Cavan and co. Meath ; was styled " More " [i.e., " the Great"] and was, 26 Sep. 1628, cr. EARL OF FINGALL [!.],(=) taking his seat, as such, 14 July 1634, serving on the committee for privileges, &c. He m. firstly Elizabeth, da. of Rory (O'Donnei.l), Earl of Tyrconnel [I.], by Bridget, da. of Henry (Fitzgerald), Earl of Kildare [I.] She d. B.p. in London soon after her marriage. He secondly (articles dat. 9 June 1611), Susanna, sister of William, 1st Earl of Meath, da. of Edward (Bbabazon), 1st Baron Brabazon op Ardek [I.], by Mary, da. of Sir Thomas Smith. He m. thirdly Eleanor, widow of Sir Thomas Colclouqh, 2d da. of Dudley Bagenal, of Dunleckny, co. Carlow. By her who d. Nov. 1632, he had no issue. He m. fourthly Margaret, Dow. Viscountess Gormanston [I.], da. of Nicholas (St. Lawrence), Lord Howth [I.], by his second wife, Mary, da. of Sir Nicholas Whtte. The Earl d. 29 March 1637, aged 48. Hia widow, by whom he had no issue, d. 16 Nov. 1637. II. 1637. 2. Christopher (Plunkett), Earl of Fingall, &c. [I.], s. and h,i by second wife, styled Lord Killeen, 1628-37. He took his seat 1 6 March 1639, but, taking a prominent part in the rebellion of 1641 with other Roman Catholic Lords and gentry, was outlawed in the co. of Meath, 17 Nov. 1641 ; taken prisoner at the battle of Rathmines, d. fourteen days afterwards in Dublin Castle and was bur. 18 Aug. 1649, in St. Catharine's, Dublin. By Cromwell's act of Pari., 12 Aug. 1652, he was (after his death) excepted from pardon of life and estate. He had m. in Jan. 1636, Mabell, da. of Nicholas (Barnewall), 1st Viscount Barnewall of Kinqsland [I.], by Bridget, Dow. Countess of Tyrconnel [I.], da. of Henry (Fitzoerald), Earl of Kii dare [I.] above named, the said Mabell being bister {ex parte matcma) to the Earl's step mother. She m. secondly Col. James Barnewall and d. at Bcggstown [1,] being bur. 4 Feb. 1699, at Killeen. III. 1619. 3. Luke (Plunkett), Earl of Fingall, &c. [I.], s. and h., b. 1639 ; styled Lord Killeen till 1649 ; restored to his estate by the Court of Claims and by Royal letters, 1670-77.( d ) He, on 29 Nov. 1683, settled all his estates on his sou Peter in tail male with rem. to his heir in " tail male in such line as (he ancient pea-age of Killeen would jo."(°) He m. Margaret, da. of Donogh (Macarty), Earl of Clancarty [I.], by Eleanor, sister of James (Bdtler), 1st Duke of Ormonde. He d. about 1684. His widow d. 1 Jan. 1703. (») The heir male of Sir Walter Ogilvy, of Inchmartin, who became the second Earl of Fiudlater, would under the destination of the regrant of the honours (the Earldom of Findlater and the Barony of Ogilvy of Deskford), 18 Oct. 1641, be entitled thereto. They were claimed in June 1812 by Sir William Ogilvy, Bart., of Boyne (who also claimed the Barony of Banff) but no proceedings were taken in support thereof.
