(») On 5 Aug. 1861, he was cr. BARON FITZ- HARDINGE of the city, and county of the city OF BRISTOL. He m. firstly, 4 Dec. 1823, at Chichester, Charlotte, da. of Charles (Lennox), 4th Duke of Richmond, by Charlotte, 1st da. of Alexander (Gordon), 4th Duke of Gordon [3]. She, who was 6. 4 Deo. 1804, d, 20 Aug. 1833. He m. secondly, 30 Sep. 1834, at Woodehester, Charlotte, da. of Thomas (Morf.ton), 1st Earl of Ducie, by Frances, da. of Henry (Herrert), 1st Earl of Carnarvon. He U. 17 Oct. 1867, at Berkeley Castle in his 80th year. Will pr . 23 Nov. 1867, under £60,000. His widow, who was b. Nov. 1806, tl. s.p. 2 July, 1881, aged 74, at 40, Hans place, Midx. II. 1867. 2. Francis "William Fitz-Hardinge (Berkeley), Baron Fitz-Hardlue of Bristol, s. and h., b. 16 Nov. 1826. Ed. at Rugby school; Capt. Royal Horse Guards, 1853-57. Lieut. Col. of the Glouc. Surrey, Georgina, da. of William Holme-Summer of Hatchlands in East Clandon, Surrey, by Mary Barnard, 1st da. of James Barnard Hankey, of Fetchham Park, Surrey. Family Estates. —These in 1883, consisted of 18,264 acres in Gloucestershire, 1,471 in Dorset and 539 (near Cranford), in Middlesex. Total 20,274, worth £33,717 a year. Principal Residence. Berkeley Castle, co. Gloucester. Hugh Fitz-Henry, of Ravensworth, in Richmondshire, was one of those who were sum. 8 June (1294), 22 Ed. II., to attend the King wherever he might be, &c, but this cannot be considered as a regular writ of summons to Parl.( b ) He was one, however, of those whose name (as " D'n's dc Ravcncwath ") in 1301, is appended to the celebrated letter to the Pope.( c ) He d. at Berwick on Tweed in March 1303/4, being ancestor of the Lords Fitz-Hugh. Barony by 2. Auoher Fitz-Henry,^) who m. Joan, da. and Writ coheir of John de Bellew, by Laderina, sister and coheir of Peter db Bruce, of Skelton, co. York, acquired thereby an eighth part of the I. 1309. Barony of Skelton, and was sum. to Pari, as a Baron (LORD FITZ- HENRY) from 4 March (1308/9), 2 Ed. II., to 10 Oct. (1325), 19 Ed. II. He d. about (1339), 13 Ed. III. II. 1339. 2. Henry Fitz-Aucher, s. and h., aged 40 in (1339), 13 Ed. III.
