He conformed to the established church and took his seat in the House of Lords [I.], 25 May 1710. On 1-1 Nov. 1715, he was one of a Committee to congratulate Geo. I. on his accession. He was P.C. both to Geo. I. and Geo. II., and in Jan. 1726 was M.P. for Fowey, in Cornwall. He m. (settl. 26 Feb. 1703/4), Frances, da. of Sir John SHELLEY, Bart, being the only child of her mother (his first wife) Winifred, only da. of (whose issue became sole heir to) George (Nkvii.l), Lord Abkhoavenny. He d. at his house at Thorpe, Surrey, 6 June 1743. Will dat. 4 Oct. 1742, pr. 22 Oct. 1743. His widow d. at the age of 99 and was bur. 18 Nov. 1771, at St. James,' Westm. Will dat. 25 June 1761, pr. On 18 Nov. 1733, he was Cornet in tho Royal Regt. of Horse (under bis br. in law the Earl of Pembroke), and at his father's death was in Germany in the King's service. Of him his father speaks in his will ns "a wretch, who in contempt of sense, &c., has clandestinely sold the remainder of his family estate, &c." On 2S May 1714, he was elected K.B., and installed, 20 Oct. P.O., April 1746 ; Vice Admiral of the province of Leinster, F.R.S., &c. On 23 Oct. 1751, he took his seat [I]. He m. 3 May 1744, at the bouse of her father, in St. James' square, St. James' Westm. Catharine, da. of Sir Matthew Deckek, of Richmond, Surrey, Bart., by Henrietta, da, of Rev. Richard Watki.vs, D.D., Rector of Wickford, co. Warwick He d. 25 April 1776, and was bur. in Donuybrook chapel, co. Dublin. Adman., March and Nov. 1777, and again 26 Aug. 1794. July 1780, Agnes, da. of Thomas Macclesfield, of Chesterton, co. Derby. She d. 15 Jan. 1817. He d. B.p., at Bath, Jan. 1833, when the Peerage became extinct. Will dat. 18 Jan. 1832, pr. 31 Jan. 1833. FIVIE, see Fyvie. FLA.CRAIG. i.e., " Livingston of Flacraig," Barony [S.] {Livingston), cr. 1660 with the Eablpom of Newbdrgh [S.], which see. ( a ) He was coheir to a moiety of the Barony of Vaux, thro' the families of Shelley, Nevill, and Vaux. This moiety, in 1833, fell again into moieties between the des- cendants of Mary, Countess of Pembroke and Frances, Baroness Carbery [I.], the daughters of the 5th Viscount FitzWilliam [I]. ( b ) In his will, after an annuity of £300 to bis brother and successor, he bequeaths his South Sea Stock, and his books, pictures, prints, kc, to the University of Cam- bridge (being the foundation of the FitzWilliam Museum), and devises the reversion of the chief part of his estates (after several life tenancies), to his cousin, Hon. Sidney Herbert (afterwards Lord Herbert of Lea), and his issue intail male.
